As part of the application process at ACE Academy, we require qualifying scores on the Wechsler Intelligence Scale for Children - Fifth Edition (WISC),or similar, for children six years and older. For children under six, we suggest the Wechsler Primary and Preschool Scale of Intelligence - Third Edition (WPPSI).

For all students transferring in that have been previously identified for a GT program we also accept the CogAT. If you are transferring in from out of state we ask that you share any previous assessments with us before seeking additional testing.


That said, a child is much more than any IQ score; many additional factors are considered for admission, including past school performance, motivation, readiness, social and verbal abilities, work ethic, perseverance and family support.

We recommend using a licensed psychologist who is familiar with bright children; there are specific ways that a gifted child may respond to the test differently from the average child.
